This is a story of betrayal. In my own kitchen.
You think you’ve found the right one, the person you can trust and will be faithful to you all your life and beyond.
They’ll never do anything to hurt you or to break that trust.
But one day you get home and you find it. Proof of betrayal.
Your heart breaks in a thousand pieces.
The once-loved better half has crossed the line this time.
They ordered pizza without you.
And they left the empty box on the table to mock you.
They should know better. They’ll pay for this.
Let’s make Tiramisu and not share with the cheater!
What you need:
- 4 eggs
- 500g mascarpone cheese
- 100g sugar
- cocoa powder
- 350ml coffee
- sponge fingers biscuits or dry biscuits
Separate the egg yolks from the whites.
Whip the egg yolks, mascarpone cheese and the sugar until thick and creamy.
In a separate bowl whip the whites until they’re fluffy and firm.
Gently add the whites to the cream you just made, being careful not to “unfluff” the whites.
Now grab the pan you want to use for the tiramisu and start dipping the biscuits / sponge fingers in the cold coffe. Make sure the sponge fingers don’t get too soaked or they’ll become soggy.
You can add some coffee liquor or some cognac to the coffee if you like. 🙂
Once you have the first layer of biscuits /coffee sponge fingers, lay the cream on top, sprinkle some cocoa powder, and repeat until you have 3 layers.
Put the pan securely in the fridge for at least 8 hours and keep an eye on the traitor, they’ll try to put their cheating hands on the precious tiramisu. They don’t deserve such deliciousness!
Once the cream is firm, you can enjoy your well-deserved tiramisu.
Make sure your other half is watching and sulking.
You win. You have tiramisu and they’ve learnt their lesson: they’ll never order pizza without you again. 😉
