A Sweet Start – Nonna’s Doughnut Cake

Nonna’s Big Doughnut Cake

Yes, you read that right.
It’s a cake but looks like a big doughnut – tasty 😋

This nonna’s classic is easy to make, even if you’re clumsy like me… so get ready to get covered in flour!

What you need:

3 eggs
300 g self-rising wheat flour
250 g sugar
180 ml whole milk
150 g butter

Let’s get this cake started!

Grab a bowl – put the chopped butter, sugar and eggs in it.

Well done.

Now – you know that electric hand wisk that’s been sitting in the cupboard ever since you moved into the house? Time to put it to good use!

Mix the content of the bowl with the flour and milk until you get the right consistency.

Grab your cake pan and spread butter in it. Get a cup, cover the outside in butter and place it in the middle of the pan, this will create the doughnut shape.

Pour the content of the bowl in the pan and bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees C.

When it’s ready…

Spread some honey on top to make it extra sweet and delicious 😸

Don’t forget to let it cool down before you grab a slice! Not like I did…
